"Toby." CJ rushed both of them in his office. Then she saw someone in there with him. "Oh, I'm sorry."
"It's fine. Congressman Wooden was just leaving." Toby stood.
"Yeah." The Congressman smiled and walked out.
"What's up?" Toby asked.
"Derek has something to say." CJ pushed Derek from behind closer to Toby.
"There was more to the fight."
"What?"
"I called him a name." Derek looked down.
"What did you call him?" Toby asked concerned.
"I called him a big fat stupid lying son of a b*tch." Derek ran behind CJ after he said it.
"You what?" Toby found himself yelling. Everyone outside his office began to stare.
"Toby." CJ hushed him as she shut the door. Derek was still behind her.
"Derek, come here." Toby ordered.
"No." Derek said quietly.
"Why?" Toby asked.
"Because you're going to hit me."
"I'm not going to hit you, just come here." Derek slowly walked over and stood in front of Toby.
"First of all, you do not say words like that. Do you understand?"
"Yes." Derek looked down.
"Second, you don't start a fight."
"But..."
"No but's!" Toby hushed him. "I'm handling this. But now the school board wants you home for the next three days. You just started school Derek!"
"I mention to mom and maybe it's my calling..."
"Derek." CJ stopped him and grabbed her stomach again and moaned.
"CJ, it's not that bad..."
"Excuse me!" CJ covered her mouth with her hand and ran out of the office towards the bathroom.
"What happened?" Toby started to walk after her.
"I know what's wrong." Derek grinned.
"What?" Toby stopped and looked at him.
"I can't tell though." Derek looked up.
"And why can't you tell me?"
"No not that kind of I can't tell you, it's the kind where I don't know what's going on."
"Derek," Toby sighed, "You just said that you know what's wrong."
"Oh okay. She said she may have gotten food poisoning or the flu."
"I see." CJ walked back into the room.
"Everything alright," Toby asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Probably just the flu."
"That's what Derek said."
"Yeah, he's probably right too. He said something about watching The Learning Channel."
"Oh that's a good channel," Ginger said as she handed Toby a memo. When she had three pairs of eyes staring at her, she looked nervous. "Um, I'll be going now." She walked out.
"So what's going to happen to me," Derek asked.
"You're grounded for a week. No television, no friends over..." CJ started to say.
"No friends?!" Derek interrupted.
"Please let me finish."
"Sorry."
"No friends over, and while you are at home for the next three days--"
"Oh no," Toby said.
"What?"
"He can't stay home alone."
"Yes I can." Derek offered with a smile.
"No you can't." The both of them said.
"Fine." Derek sat on the couch and pouted.
"Maybe we can find a babysitter." CJ asked.
"Who do we trust?"
"Well, maybe family members that live near by."
"We don't have any that live near by." Toby said.
"True." CJ looked down, feeling sick again.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Toby asked.
"I'm fine." CJ waved it off. "What about you brother?"
"He's wife hates me."
"You're sisters?"
"They live in New York."
"Toby." Ginger walked in. "Elizabeth Bartlet is here to see you."
"Liz?" Toby walked out. "What are you doing here."
Toby rushed over to her and gave her a friendly kiss on the lips and a hug.
"I came to see my father. He's in a meeting so I came here."
"Is this you're daughter?" Toby asked while looking at the girl next to her."
"Yes, she got big."
"Yes she did." Toby smiled. "You don't remember me, huh?"
"Yes I do, you let me pig out on pizza." She smiled.
"That's right." Toby smiled and hugged the girl.
"Who's that?" Liz pointed to Derek hiding behind CJ again.
"This is our son Derek." CJ said. "Derek, say hi."
"I'd rather not," Derek said, still hiding behind CJ.
"Derek..." CJ said.
"Hi," he said quietly.
"I'm Annie," she said.
He nodded, "Yeah." He was at 'that stage' where he hated girls.
"Will you please be polite and come out from behind me," CJ said, getting annoyed. Derek poked his head around CJ. "Better?" She moved him so that he was standing next to her.
"That's better."
"Hey!"
"Don't hey me mister," CJ said, growing impatient.
"Liz, it's great to see you." CJ hugged her.
"It's great to see you too, CJ. It has been way too long."
"Yes, it has," Toby said.
"Well, I should go see my dad. Come on, Annie." Annie followed her mother to the Oval Office.
"Hey, I have an idea," Toby said once he, CJ, and Derek were all back in his office.
"What's your idea?" CJ asked.
"Have Annie sit for Derek."
"No way!" He yelled.
"Derek, hush." Toby said. "This could work."
"Don't you think she's a little young?" CJ asked.
"She's 14. And very responsible."
"Don't I have a say in this?" Derek moaned.
"No!" The both shot back.
"This family is very disfunctional!" He snapped back.
"Should I go ask her?" Toby asked.
"Let her visit with the President first. Will see them tonight at the party."
"There's a party?" Derek smiled.
"Yes, and you better behave yourself." CJ warned.
"I always do."
"Tonight." Toby said.
"What?" CJ asked confused.
"Have Annie watch Derek tonight in the residence. Like a trying it out type of thing."
"Great idea." CJ smiled and kissed him. "This is why I love you." She smiled.
"Now this makes me what to throw up." Derek mumbled.
"Speaking of which. Are you sure your ok?" He asked CJ while feeling her stomach.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She smiled.
"That's what they always say." Derek said.
"Derek!" She snapped.
"Well, they do."
"Who does?" Toby asked.
"The women on, A Baby Story." Derek said proudly.
CJ glared at him. "We are going home. Now."
"I still have work to do," Toby said.
"Then have someone drop you off."
"Uh, okay." He was quite confused.
"Keys please," CJ said as she put her hand out. He handed her the keys.
"Do we have to go," Derek whined.
"Yes, we do," she said. "We have some talking to do."
"Okay." He said, giving in.
"See you at home." CJ kissed Toby and then she and Derek walked to the car.
