"You know what? I don't want to hear it!" Toby snapped as he put the car in drive, or so he thought. Toby slammed on the gas, only to find out that he put the car in reverse and slammed into the cop car behind him.
"This isn't happening to me." Toby mumbled as he covered his face with his hands.
"Are you ok?" CJ quickly turned around to Derek.
"Are you kidding? Can we do that again?" Derek smiled.
"Just sit there." CJ glared at him.
"I am." Derek glared back.
"Get out of the car!" The police officer screamed.
"Does this mean I get to stay home from school today?" Derek asked as Toby got out of the car slowly.
"I thought the car was..." Toby started but was hushed by the police officer slamming him into the car and cuffing him.
"You have the right to remain silent. But that might be impossible with you."
"Wait!" CJ jumped out of the car. "You can't arrest him."
"Ma'am, get back in the car." He said as he put Toby in the back of the police car. "Don't make me take you downtown."
"Toby, I'll call Leo." CJ screamed. Only getting a glare from Toby as the police officer drove away with his damaged car.
CJ closed the passenger side of the door and got into the driver's side and put the car into drive and drove.
"Where are we going," Derek asked, afraid that he was going to get yelled at.
"We're going to school," she said, monotone voice.
"But I'm going to be late," Derek said.
"We will explain what happened," CJ snapped, which caused Derek to flinch.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly.
CJ sighed and pulled into the school parking lot. She got out and walked around to the side Derek was sitting on and opened the door.
"Honey, I'm sorry for yelling at you. It's just I didn't expect that to happen. You know, dad getting arrested."
He nodded. "Mom?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm scared. What if none of the kids like me?"
"They are going to love you," she said as she helped him out of the car.
"Do you really think so?"
"I do. Now let's go." They walked into the building, where they saw Ms. Klein. "Ah, good morning, Mrs. Ziegler," she said. "I'm afraid you two are a little late."
"Well, we had a few...accidents this morning," CJ said, hoping the woman would believe her.
"I see. Well, we have found a class for Derek, so if you will follow me, I will take you there."
"Can my mom walk up there with me?"
"Sure." She looked at CJ who nodded. The three walked to a classroom full of students. Ms. Klein knocked on the door and got the teacher's attention.
"Hello, you must be Derek," the woman said.
"Yes ma'am."
"I'm Mrs. Reilly. It's very nice to meet you. Is this your mom?"
"Yeah."
After a few minutes and many tries at convincing Derek that he would be fine, CJ left, afraid of what would happen next.
When CJ got to the White House, she rushed in.
"You're late." Carol offered as CJ ran in.
"Don't start, I need Leo." CJ yelled.
"He's in a meeting with the President." Carol said.
"What happened?"
"My idiot Toby got arrested." CJ said before running down the hall. "Sam!" She bellowed.
"Oh, Mrs. Ziegler..." Sam started.
"Don't joke, I need you to go down the the DC police station."
"Why?" Sam asked.
"Toby was arrested and needs someone to go bail him out."
"Why can't you do it?" Sam whined.
"Because I think he needs a lawyer."
"I'm not a good lawyer though."
"Sam!" CJ screamed.
"What's going on?" Josh walked up to them.
"Toby was arrested." Sam said.
"For what?" Josh smirked a little.
"Good question." Sam said as the two men looked at CJ.
"He hit a police car this morning after we were pulled over for speeding." She whispered.
"Are you kidding me?" Josh asked with a smile.
"This is too good." Sam laughed.
"Shut up, this is serious. With Toby's past with the police, their not going to take this lightly." CJ said worried.
"She's got a point." Josh said.
"I'm not the guy you want for this. Get Oliver."
"He's in California." Josh said.
"Then take Ainsley." Sam offered as he saw her walk by.
"Take me where?" Ainsley smiled. CJ gave Sam a long, dark glare.
"Toby was arrested this morning for hitting a police car by mistake."
"Oh...okay." She tried not to laugh.
"Don't start."
"Sorry.
"Anyway, I need you to go down there with me and bail him out."
"Okay. Do we go now, or what?"
"Now."
"Okay, let's go."
The DC Police Station....
"Hello," CJ said when she and Ainsley arrived at the front desk.
"Hello," an officer said.
"I'm here to bail Toby Ziegler out of jail. I've brought my lawyer along just in case it is necessary to have one."
"This way please." The officer took them to Toby's cell.
"CJ, thank--"
"Shut up." CJ yelled. "How much is it going to be to bail him out?"
"Let's see, for smashing into a police car, that comes to $1,000."
"Are you kidding me?!" CJ yelled as she glared at Toby.
